Life On The Ranch: Week 13 Summary

Looking back on my previous posts, it seems to be that we've fallen into a pattern of having a busy, exciting week and then doing virtually nothing of interest the following week.
The same can be said of week 13 on the ranch. After the adventures of bath time bruises, a fancy Kelowna Staycation and one of the best brunches ever in week 12, the most exciting thing to happen in week 13 was that we did a huge load of laundry...
That's not exactly the inspirational blog content that I'm after.
One notable thing to happen though, which may save this weeks entry, is that we reached the halfway point of life at Myra Canyon Ranch.
I can't quite believe that we have now lived here longer than we have left and time is truly flying. We are super excited to have our next move lined up, three months living on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, but we are definitely not yet ready to leave the ranch!
To celebrate the midpoint of our time here - and because I have literally nothing else to write about! - I figured a photo essay of some of our favourite moments of the last three months might suffice...

One of our first sunsets over Kelowna as viewed from our balcony at the ranch. We have not stopped being amazed by this view in the time we've lived here.

On our first full weekend here we visited the Myra Canyon Trestles. We had previously visited when we took our BC road trip in the summer, but wanted to see them in a different season. We loved all of the autumnal colours and even got our first couple of flakes of snow!

We were pretty useless the first time we visited the laundromat back in week 2, but one highlight was the winter sun and beautiful view of the lake from Cedar Creek Park whilst we waited for our clothes to dry.

One of the reasons we wanted to move inland for the winter was to get proper snow. As much as we loved our life in Vancouver, the constant rainy winter reminded us too much of home and we wanted to experience a more "real" Canadian winter. We have not been disappointed and have been treated to so many incredible views like this one.

We've had so much fun exploring the Okanagan wine region. We hope to fit in a few more winery trips before our move to the Sunshine Coast.

Our impromptu walk through Lebanon Creek Greenway Regional Park was easily the hardest trek we've done since we got to Kelowna, but the views were incredible and well worth the pain to get to them.

We had a wonderful wintery Christmas at the ranch and I'm still so impressed with the amount of food we managed to put away! We're definitely overdue a detox!

We have visited Knox Mountain Park a few times since we moved here and have continued to be amazed by the stunning natural beauty and peacefulness of the place. This photo was taken between Christmas and New Year and gave us an opportunity to burn off many holiday calories!

One of the things we have loved about living at the ranch is that it is surrounded by countless tracks and trails. We try to get out for a walk around the area at least once every other day. This photo was taken on a very hungover New Year's Day.

Another lovely walk from the ranch. We are endlessly having to pinch ourselves at how lucky we are to live here. We are hoping to see this view over Kelowna at sunset, once the nights get a little lighter and the days a little warmer.

It seems like a lot of our walks are due to walking off food and/or alcohol. This was no exception - walking along the boardwalk alongside the lake after a huge brunch at the Lakeside Dining Room in the Hotel Eldorado.

And finally, walking off yet another night of overindulgence at the Delta Hotel in downtown Kelowna... before heading to the best brunch we've had here, at the Bohemian Café and Catering Co.
And there we have it, 13 weeks done, 12 weeks left to go...
